Alexandra Park
Description of chosen place
Two fenced-in areas of grassy wasteland facing each other and separated by a small road. The larger area has an abandoned building overlooking its perimeter. What do you imagine the space could be?
I imagine one of the spaces to be a dedicated area for looking after bees and extracting honey, beeswax, royal jelly etc., with the possibility of incorporating educational talks about local wildlife and looking after bees. This area would then connect to the larger (public) space by means of a footbridge over the road. I imagine this area to be filled with local plants and flowers and have ample seating. There would also be dedicated spaces for berry-picking, a weekend market, a picnic area and a secret garden that houses temporary sculptures created by local artists that change on a 3-month basis. I also imagine this space to lead into Alexandra Park with no fencing between.Submitted by
